Shape Features
Ol' Pappy's Continuous Rocker
Classic old time rocker with a kick! Boost to new heights and accelerate like you’re rigged to a rocket. By adding extra bend to a continuous rocker you’ll notice a more consistent, upward pop and a more forgiving board overall.
Tapered Tip & Tail
Our Intelli-cores are carefully milled from tip to tail to reduce each board’s swing weight. A tapered tip and tail also allows us to adjust stiffness in a board and offers a fresh, contoured look to each board’s profile.
Surf Sidewalls
One of the most visible differences in sandwich constructed boards not found on typical compression molded boards is the added feature of sidewalls. New for 2011 is our surf sidewalls. The surf sidewalls we developed prevent delams and offer added protection against wear, dings, and scrapes. Rounded and forgiving sidewalls in the center of the board taper into a more aggressive sidewall taper on each end.
Flared Edges
A new shape feature for 2011. By raising the base edges slightly upward 2mm in key areas around the perimeter, the board has a less catchy feel for butters, jibs and spins. We discovered playing with this shape feature we can create a forgiving, playful board where where you want it and still keep the power and bite when on edge in specific areas without it.
Retro Fix Inserts
The wakeboard binding as evolved considerably over the last couple years. This has led to a myriad of binding and insert widths. This year we’ve added extra depth to our board 4 x 3 insert pattern in order to accommodate longer screws from thicker board profiles. In addition, our insert pattern will allow for 6,7, and 8 inch binding widths. We recommend a 6 inch binding width for maximum stance width options.Construction
Intelli-core
Paulownia is an extremely fast growing, lightweight, exotic wood. Our Paulownia Intelli-core is the heart and soul of every Humanoid board and determines many of the board's riding characteristics. We take pride in making sure each sustainable Paulownia intelli-core is meticulously shaped, laminated, and hand finished. Intelli-core has long-lasting powerful pop, incredible response and a durable, lively feel that gives our wakeboards a vibe all its own.
Indestructoid Base
One of our biggest material advancements in 2011. UHMW is the base material typically found in snowboards. Our specially formulated UHMW glides incredibly fast and is the most durable base material we could get our grubby little hands on. Oh yeah, its also repairable!
D90 Urethane Sidewalls
We use real D90 durometer urethane to increase sidewall durability by absorbing impact and vibration around the entire perimeter of the board. Much like your favorite skateboard wheels, D90 urethane is lightweight, and can stand up to the heaviest of beat downs.
Special Blend Triaxle Fiberglass
We use varying layers of quality-stitched triax weave fiberglass to help control and maintain the weight and flex in each board and provide torsional rigidity. This glass configuration is placed on both the top and bottom of the core at opposing 0 and 45-degree angles. Our process ensures no extra weight is added from excess resin!
